YNOJI (read YNO like Brian Eno and JI like JEAns) is derived from the french word “inouï” – meaning “unheard” or “unprecedented” and it is the alias behind the composer, producer, sound designer, tech nerd and dreamer Lucian Ditulescu.
Knowing nothing about electronic music Lu started producing in 2009, taking early influences from The Prodigy, Burial and Massive Attack. In 2011 he discovered the sound of Amon Tobin and his neural world exploded into pieces. Other major influences are The Haxan Cloak, Demdike Stare & Eskmo.
Ynoji’s music is a fusion of filmic and ethnic sounds, broken beats and organic sound design, taking sounds from everyday objects and turning them into digital lifeforms.
