“Hello, my name is Alexey Semenov and I create sound landscapes. Many know me as the creator of several dance and experimental music projects (Don’ttouchmebitch !, Primary substance, Harakiri ms) and a member of a number of different groups and associations, but here I would like to talk about Russian outskirts.”
The concept of music for me is more than creating tracks for electronic dance industry in accordance with its rules and genre laws. My creative tasks always involve new research. Whether it is the implementation of subjective mental content and abstractions like momentary mood in a specific sound form, or purely technical processes from the field of sound design. It is always an immersing in the darkness of the unknown, a journey without a map, or a trip caused by a substance that does not yet have its name.
Ghettojukebox is not an album, it’s a finger pointing to what’s going on. Eight compositions – eight metaphors for different, quite specific situations that took place in the Russian reality in the fall of 2017.
